Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear for a body treatment? We leave that up to you. For body treatments we provide SPA robes and slippers. We want you to be comfortable during your treatment; wear a bathing suit, undergarments or simply your birthday suit. We can also provide disposable underwear if you prefer.
What payment methods do you accept? We accept cash, debit or credit (Visa or Mastercard), PayPal and Stripe. We cannot process gift cards from Visa, Mastercard or WaySpa.
Are gel nails going to damage my natural nails? We work with BioSculpture gel which we know to be the healthiest gel option for your nails. It strengthens, conditions, and promotes the growth of your natural nails and allows weak, brittle nails to grow. There is no inhaling of dust, vapors, odours and no excessive buffing before, during, or after application. Gel can quickly and safely be removed within ten to fifteen minutes with our unique soak-off protocol.
Is it safe for me to do a facial if I have sensitive skin? Yes, all guests receive a full consultation before treatment begins. We discuss overall health, allergies, specific concerns and skin history.
Will my skin break out after a facial? Breakouts are rare but if it is your first treatment in a while or you have an event coming up we recommend you have your facial at least 7-10 days prior.
Are the ingredients safe in your hair colour/products? Many hair care companies have made the change to using fewer chemicals, alcohol and preservatives in their products. We have chosen to use those products.
Do any of your products contain chemicals or preservatives? Most of our product lines are chemical-free and we continue to research and bring in these products to provide the healthiest options for your skin and hair care.
Do you offer vegan products? Yes! SPARitual products and some of our skin care lines have vegan options.
Can I get a pedicure/manicure if I have nail fungus? We recommend having the fungus checked by your doctor to discuss treatment options before booking a manicure/pedicure service.
Can I tint my lashes if I have contacts? Yes. You will be required to remove your contacts before performing the service.
Can I have facial wax if I am using an acne treatment? We ask that you advise us of any acne medications or AHA use before your waxing service. Special care would be made to avoid the areas where the product is being used. Otherwise waxing is not advised while using these products.
Are there any contraindications for body/face waxing? Acne medications, AHA or retinol use, recent sun exposure or sunburn, skin treatments that abrade the skin, chemical peels, skin that is irritated or has any openings.
Can I ask for additional services upon arrival or during consultations? Planning ahead for additional services is best so that we can plan the appropriate time for you. We will do our best to accommodate add-on services whenever possible.
How can I understand what products are best for my skin? We recommend that you book a FREE, 15-minute consultation with one of our Aestheticians. Product recommendations will be customized to suit the needs of your skin.
Do you offer walk-in services? We recommend calling ahead and booking your appointment to avoid disappointment.
Can Gift Certificates be converted to dollar amounts? Our Gift Certificates can be converted to a dollar amount and used for any service or retail products we offer in the spa and salon.
Can Spa packages be interchanged or parts of the package interchanged? We do not offer substitutions in any of our packages. If redeeming a Gift Certificate for a spa package and you wish to make changes to the services, we will convert it to the dollar amount and it can be used toward the requested services.
How long after shaving can I receive a waxing service? We recommend that you book your waxing services a minimum of 2-3 weeks after shaving to achieve the optimal results.
How often should I wax? We recommend scheduling your regular waxing appointments every 4 weeks.
Can I make an appointment to have my finger/toe nails cut? Yes we will schedule a 15-minute appointment for you and perform a nail trim and file. This service does not include soaking or any preparation of the nails beforehand.
Is my Aromatherapy Massage covered by my health plan? No. Our Aromatherapy massages are performed by Aestheticians and include a full body massage.
Can the Aromatherapy Massage in my package be performed by an RMT? Unfortunately not. All of our services in our spa packages are specially priced to provide better value. Massage performed by an RMT may not be discounted. If you would prefer an RMT please let us know and we will convert your package to a dollar amount and apply it to your services.
Can I split my spa package up for multiple visits? Yes you can but please be advised that you will lose the discounted pricing for each service within the spa package. Your Gift Certificate will be converted to a dollar amount to pay for individual services.
